Its a sign

Ok. So I saw this adorable clutch on etsy which I love. Then I found this fabric on fabric.com.

I think its a sign I can maybe take this on as a project. Is it doable? Am I capable of doing this?

We love our back porch!

We love our new back porch! Jackson loves to go out and play and last night the sun was just gorgeous as we sat and played and sang after dinner. Life is grand.

I'll post pictures of the house when things a little closer to unpacked.

I blame myself

This time I can only blame myself. I was warned so many times if your child is especially attached to something buy extras. I knew I needed to be prepared for him losing it, ruining it, staining it etc. He is only one. I didn't listen. I thought it was just a plain white gerber baby blanket. I can buy one anywhere. They stopped making them in white. I have looked and looked. I can only find them now in pink, blue, and green and stripes. I bought him the two pack of blue and stripes. He is ok with the blue one but the striped one he will only touch to hand it to me like "mom, why did you drop this thing on the floor? it must be yours." I can only blame myself.

I have a few rules to protect it like not taking it bye-bye with us (except to overnight trips). That isn't fail proof like this weekend when Jackson escaped through the front door carrying his blanket dragging it through all sorts of gunk.

I blame Lori

I blame my good friend Lori. If it wasn't for her I would have remained in a state of blissful ignorance having no idea how many things there are in this world to covet. I have never had a knack for design but I have spent too much time recently drooling over blogs like designmom and etsy.

There are just so many cute things out there in this world that I never knew about and I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for....Lori. (yeah, thats right. I said it.) So I'm actually posting the links on my page instead of still (after 3 months) following her links.

Ila Terry O'Bryant

This past week has been a very emotional week for us. Brent's maternal grandmother who lives with us (or we live with her) had a stroke last Friday. Although it has been a difficult experience for the family we have seen many of the Lord's "tender mercies" in the process. Brent's mother who cares for her primarily was out of town and two of her daughters who live farther away had come down to visit with her. We had had a giant Terry reunion just one year ago. Although the feelings are mixed for us, she had been wanting to go home to be with her husband for years. Her children and many grandkids have come to be by her side in these last days and we have brought her home to pass here. We've spent the last few days telling stories, shedding tears, and offering prayers. We love her very much and are grateful for her impact in our lives.

My helper

I would like to think it's because of my fine example and that it is a sign of Jackson in the future but in his own way he cleans up after himself. He loves to take the broom and dustpan from me. When he spills anything he wipes his hands on the floor to clean it up (green beans, rocks he pulled out of the fireplace, spilt milk). I walked in the kitchen the other day and found this.
Am I lucky or what?
