They stay good for weeks (trust me :)). Then you can stock pile several kinds and pull out an assortment to plate up and give away.
Even better: organize a swap. For the past 5 or so years the Cruze women have a cookie swap in early December. You just have to bake one or two batches to bring, enjoy an evening taste-testing them (vote on a winner!), then divide everything up so that everyone goes home with a little bit of everyone's contributions. Wrap them up tight in the freezer, then a couple of weeks later pull a few out and it looks like you've been slaving away all day on a beautifully diverse plate of goodies.Lorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13759586121672152426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767402741635311436.post-79469863004079992252010-12-03T15:51:28.830-08:002010-12-03T15:51:28.830-08:00Check out this link for holiday recipes--so many g...Check out this link for holiday recipes--so many good ideas: http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/12/holiday-gifts-from-kitchen.htmlKathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02712543598146942115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767402741635311436.post-69439715219875069852010-12-03T11:24:13.262-08:002010-12-03T11:24:13.262-08:00Two words: White Trash. It's fun to make with kids too.

Here's the recipe:

http://www.food.com/recipe/alton-browns-white-trash-226723Mandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15538523508638380724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1767402741635311436.post-85707647594727396492010-12-03T11:11:58.689-08:002010-12-03T11:11:58.689-08:00This is my favorite gift recipe. I usually get macadamia nuts at Costco (Sams Club).

Macadamia/Cashew Nut Crunch

Ingredients:

¾ cup of coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
¾ cup of coarsely chopped cashew nuts
½ cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of light Karo syrup
1 cube butter
1 11 oz bag of Hershey milk chocolate chips

Line a 9” X 9” square pan with foil extended over up over the sides. Butter foil and sprinkle the chocolate chips in bottom of pan. Set aside.

Mix nuts, sugar, syrup and butter together in a large heavy fry pan. Heat until butter and sugar are dissolved stirring constantly. Turn heat up to Medium and cook the mixture for about ten minutes continuing stirring. When the mixture begins to stick together and is a light golden brown, pour mixture covering the chocolate and cool. When cooled, place in refrigerator. When cold, peel the aluminum foil from bottom of candy and break into pieces.

Enjoy!!Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01244433835267978011noreply@blogger.com
