Springtime!

I was desperate when I arrived in Alabama this we ekend because I didn't have an outfit for Jackson for Easter. I am southern. In my in-laws eyes I am very southern. I don't know about that but Easter outfits are important to me. I was not going to have Jackson wearing winter church clothes after Easter. hmph. So after shopping in Tuscaloosa and finding everything sold out in his size for easter my mom and I decided to make an outfit. I have almost no experience sewing but under my moms watchful eye (and her really taking over with the buttons an collar) we worked throughout the weekend. I knew Sunday would be hard so I decided to try to take his pictures today. Like a true Hutchison, he doesn't love taking pictures but I did the best I could do.

Brittany was great to help ease his pain with bananas.

Jackson loves to peek under fabrics. He does it to girls (uh-oh), boys (uh oh) and bedskirts (oh well.)

We had to give up on outfit pictures but still got some cute cuddling with mom pictures.

Travelin'

So I feel like we've been on the road a lot recently. Really it was just one trip to Alabama, a trip to the mountains, and errands but it feels like more. We recently switched Jackson around to forward facing and find it almost darn near impossible to keep from watching him. This makes car naps much more difficult since Dad can't keep his eyes off of him. After I begged Brent to stop turning around so he could sleep I realized he had just adjusted the rear view mirror to make faces at him there. Seriously though, its hard to resist.

A Day in the Life

I feel like all of my friends make these way cute blogs with tales of adventure and excitement. Those are the days I forgot my camera I guess. Some days I just feel like taking a lot of pictures. Here are just some random shots.
Doing the laundry, well the dirty laundry.
Brent brought home a hamburger from McDonald's. He really liked it. It runs in his blood I guess.
And that was all there was left of that!
I'm hoping this leads to good hygeine in the future. He loves brushing his teeth, well gnawing the toothbrush, especially when we're brushing.
And in other news...Jackson got a big ugly black eye. He's starting to stand and even kinda step these days and Monday he fell and hit the table. It swelled and bruised immediately. So like any good mother would, I ran and got the camera. Unfortunately the shiner doesn't show up in the flash of the camera well. So instead of you judging it wasn't that bad I'd rather you imagine just how bad it was and how sad he looked.

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Jackson turned the big 1 on January 25th. I can't believe it has been a whole year but it sure has been fun. He is so fun to have around. He's big to us but after just returning from his Dr.'s appointment and him falling in the 17% for height I guess he really is little. (Although his head is 68%. Its like an orange on a toothpick.) These are some of his birthday shots.
Playing the piano with Brittany. Eating his birthday cupcake.
Mad because the frosting was sticking to his fingers.
Getting his first haircut. Yes dad did the trimming while Gma entertained and distracted.
And the final product! Mind you it took a while, it was past his bedtime, he was feeling cooky from the sugar rush so he wasn't his cheerful self by the end but Brent did a great job!

Just cute pictures

These are just some cute random pictures of what my son likes to do most.
He seriously eats paper all the time. We went to the mall and he played in the little playground. so big!
He knows his favorite blankets are always in the crib so he'll pull up and then pull them out.

Rachel Rachel

Yeah! Rachel came to visit us for a little bit on New Years Day. We had tons of fun. Well, actually we spent way too many hours in front of Heroes season one. I got it for Christmas and Brent and I have introduced it to everybody so we've now watched it so many times its slightly embarassing. Anyway, I digress. We're glad that she came and here are the pictures to prove it.
In our struggle to break away from Heroes, we spent one evening in downtown Knoxville and really had fun. Most of the lights were still up so it was nice to see.

We found this little shop and thought mom would enjoy seeing it.

Riding

So I know I told both sets of grandparents that I wanted books or clothes for Jackson for Christmas. I remember saying the words. "We don't have room for lots of big toys" I said. Well, unfortunately when you see the cute toy you can't resist because I bought him one too!
I bought him this adorable rocking duck. It quacks! We keep it in our bedroom.
My mom bought him this way cute sorta tricycle. It will be the outside toy. He's a little too short for it now but I like to push him on it...and I guess he likes it too.
Brent's mom bought him this firetruck which sings three different songs which we love. They almost have a country twang and its just adorable. and yes, we keep the loudest toy closest to the people who bought it for him, it stays upstairs.
Thanks everybody for listening to what I wanted! j/k
