Does it count?

Does it count as a first word if I was the only person to hear it and he hasn't repeated it?
I swear I heard shoes. plain as day. but only once.
"shoes"

    That's Jacob's first word that I felt I could count!! He said it while I was putting his shoes on and I almost fell right over.

    I had better get Nicholas learning "shoe" to keep the trend alive.
