July 4th

I think i had more fun with Jackson this year on the 4th than i remember having as a kid. We just kinda talked about it a lot with jackson and had more fun with it. These are hats we made for fhe monday night.

They have a kid parade every year in Brents old neighborhood so we went to that. The kids decorate their own bikes and stuff and ride behind a firetruck that comes every year. It was really a lot of fun.
So i'm feeling bad after reading other blogs about their kids loving fireworks. We were all prepared to keep jackson up, but then I was exhausted. We just went home and went to bed. pathetic huh? oh well. We loved celebrating our country all day!

I love your hats, so cute! Don't feel bad about the fireworks, he won't remember, we didn't do them last year at all!

Do not feel bad at all! You do what you can and in the end it doesn't really matter about the fireworks because they don't remember it anyways. I'm feeling bad after reading your blog for not having FHE!

How sweet. Granddaddy would not go to the fireworks either (neither granddaddy) but I got to go with the young people. Wish I could remember how to make those hats! Love to all, MOM

I love neighborhood parades. Whenever we were in Utah for Pioneer Day we'd be in my cousins' neighborhood parade with wagons and bikes and stuff. We didn't keep Olivia up for fireworks, either, but just cause it was Sunday the next day and those are long days for her. Besides, you have an excuse for being tired. Aren't you, um, pregnant?

You're right, kids make these events worth it. And Austin couldn't care less about the fireworks either. Oh well, maybe next year.
