Amazingly, I convinced Brent to go camping with our friends the Kramers. He's not really a camper. In fact, he slept on a blow up mattress in the van but still, he went. We had so much fun. Even Brent will confess to that. We had running water and bathrooms, picnic tables and sites right next to the car--not exactly primitive but roughing it. Jackson, who is nervous about standing on the stage at church climbed this rock and told me to take a picture. He was very proud of himself. He also go to try a hand at fishing which he'd been wanting to do for a while. Brent's fish. Can you see it? ....and....the salamander. What can I say beside I told you so. He's gross.
So when I get to a new place in winter I'm always a little eager for spring to see what it looks like there. Here are the good and bad finds from our new house.
we have a ton of this moss and other weeds in our yard. ideas? i've just been trying to pull up the moss b/c that's what our neighbor said. it's black in some parts from previous years of moss that died. brent has taken to the clover patches that are also very abundant. this is our first yard so we want it to look nice but we're kinda clueless.
At the end of our trip to Alabama we stopped by my Aunt Pat's house. She is the kind of woman who sincerely amazes me. She lives way out in the country. She has these amazing gorgeous plants all over her house, eats out of her garden year round, always has...I don't know....mom would you say like 10 dogs? She is a country woman.
I told you everywhere! This GIANT plant was in her bathroom. I think I heard my nephew thought it was a dinosaur. At first I'd say that Jackson was one of the braver ones. He'd walk up to these dogs that were well taller than him.But then one got him, meaning they licked and smelled his face a lot, and then this was his face whenever they walked up to him. Thanks a lot Aunt Pat!
I wish you could all be here with us! I just wanted to share some of the beauty but there are a million other shots in my memory that I wish you could see too.
We love our new back porch! Jackson loves to go out and play and last night the sun was just gorgeous as we sat and played and sang after dinner. Life is grand. I'll post pictures of the house when things a little closer to unpacked.
