Sam is talking.

I couldn't believe it when it happened but I said "Sam, say cheese." and he said "cheese" in the cutest and cheesiest way possible. I was flabbergasted. My other favorite is "I-wan-pop-pop" (I want popcorn.) His first was diaper.

A Q and U wedding

So for our preschool group I had the letter Q. yuck! What do you do with the letter Q??? Well, in the elementary school I worked at they had a Q and U wedding. I mentioned it to the kids and they were excited but when I thought more about it I didn't want to do it. Like a week later Hannah told her mom that "she still didn't get to marry jackson." I felt bad so we did it. They got into it more than I realized. I mean, the wedding part, I don't think anything about the letter Q stuck.

unfortunately for jackson he is the only boy in his preschool so he had to marry all three girls. he was pretty over it by his 3rd wedding but i made him do it anyway so he wouldn't let the girls down. I did feel bad for him though.

Then we made a wedding cake, complete with buzz and jesse on top--a detail which i loved.
So I wouldn't do it again. They actually got into it more than I imagined. I came downstairs and jackson had kissed one of the girls. It was innocent and his explanation was of course that they were married but I think it might have upset a girls mom. so i'm not recommending this activity but i couldn't not post it.

F is for fancy...evidently

when you have 3 girls and one boy in your preschool, thats what you get. my friends tell me i'm funny for letting it frazzle me but frankly, i find it's fairly frightening to see your first boy fancy-ing up his fingernails.

like father like son

Brent spends a lot of time with computers. in fact, last year when he gave me this computer for mothers day I barely saw it for the first month while he "set it up" for me. Saturday Jackson and I re-discovered pbskids.org. they'll likely be a bit more competition for the computer in our home now.

I ask you how!

How do you get your kids to poopoo in the potty? I've bribed him. I've sat him in front of the TV. I've even given him a suppository when he got himself sick. He can keep his underwear clean and dry all day (well still not for naps or nightime) except for a #2 accident or he'll get constipated. Too much to share? Is he just not ready?

my mom came

and basically this is all we did.
because the rest of the time was spent doing this.
That is popping beans and potty training (see the pants.) no--he isn't potty trained.

Does it count?

Does it count as a first word if I was the only person to hear it and he hasn't repeated it?
I swear I heard shoes. plain as day. but only once.
"shoes"
I'm counting it.
