I haven't been sewing like at all recently. I still frequent sewing blogs though even though I now know I won't sew anything I see. This has been the most tempting post for me in months. the projects. the babies. the fabric. the colors. the photography. i love it all.

Spring finds
So when I get to a new place in winter I'm always a little eager for spring to see what it looks like there. Here are the good and bad finds from our new house.
we have a ton of this moss and other weeds in our yard. ideas? i've just been trying to pull up the moss b/c that's what our neighbor said. it's black in some parts from previous years of moss that died. brent has taken to the clover patches that are also very abundant. this is our first yard so we want it to look nice but we're kinda clueless.

meal of the week
occasionally i stumble upon a recipe that is so good I think I should blog about it,t just because I think other people should know about this and hoping that they will post their own great meals. The problem is I rarely put my fork down to take a picture. Luckily, Brent was sick last night so there was an extra serving...until I ate it too.
Truth is I didn't exactly have a recipe. I just tried to remember from what I read in the magazine at the Dr.'s office. So here goes.
Mix ground turkey with an egg, bread crumbs, seasonings you like (I did oregano, parsley, and thyme). Put on wax paper in a rectangle. Going up the line of the rectangle I put bacon, a little blue cheese, and mozarella. Then using the wax paper roll it up and bake. I know the recipe said use pancetta and something else but bacon costs less. I'm sure you can use whatever cheese you want too. Now post, or comment, a favorite recipe. not like a weird chain thing. just know that there is somebody out there that likes to copy and try new recipes.

yes-my son really likes cranes and we seem to pass a lot of them.

I sing to Jackson a lot. Did you know that? I guess I'm the lucky sort of mom who has a child who seriously believes that a kiss cures a boo boo and songs will, eventually, make us feel happy again. I don't know many children's songs besides the primary songs. So to all of you who are familiar with them I'll test you in the same way I've been tested over the last couple of weeks. Jackson doesn't know the titles of these popular primary songs just random lines of the songs. He also doesn't know the real words, just guesses what they might be. All of these completely baffled me for a full five minutes at least as he screamed "you do!! you do know it!" I'll give them to you easiest first.
