A survey

So to all of you moms...when do you do most of your housework? is it when the kids are in bed? is it during the day when they're watching movies/tv? normally i get as much done as i can during the day with the kids but my evenings are reserved for lounging but i'm finding i just can't get it all done. so i just wanted to ask y'all what y'all do.

I find just not doing it seems to work best for me. :) Otherwise I try and devote 1-2 hrs in the morning after the TV is turned off and Isabel plays with her toys. Granted I only have 1 and she's older then Jackson so maybe that's not too helpful.

what housework?
Save it until Saturday when the whole family can pitch in.
Well, clean your kitchen after the last meal. Or early in the morning if you have more energy then.

Hmmm...when do I do housework...still thinking...I do it when the kids are watching TV or eating. Then I can babygate Price in the family room or strap him in a high chair. I DON'T do housework after supper. Except maybe laundry.

I'm totally with you on reserving the evenings for lounging. That is important. I pretty much do housework on and off all day...just whatever needs doing. If there's a specific, little-more-involed task that needs to be done (like a bathroom) I'll do it during Afton's nap. I do laundry almost always on the same two days each week. Other than that, as long as the downstairs is at least pretty well cleaned up at the end of the day I'm satisfied. P.S. Having older kids makes it tons easier I think. They do a lot of work too.

When my kids were younger I used to always do it during their nap time and then after they had gone to bed at night. Then I got to where I lived having my evenings to chill so I now just do it througout the day. Plus Sydney loves to help me clean the bathrooms!

As of late I can't seem to catch up on house work! I try and do most of it when little man is napping, or on Saturday.

Although I despise housework, I HATE having a dirty house. I am a creature of habit and do best when I have a routine. I do laundry on Mondays (including sheets) and I dust and vacuum the bedrooms. Tuesday I clean the powder room and kitchen. Wednesday I dust and vacuum the family room. Thursday I clean the bathrooms. Friday I do more laundry. I try to keep things straightened up throughout the week and I do most of my cleaning (not vacuuming) while my one year old naps cuz that is the only way I could get it done. GOOD LUCK! Maybe when all the kids are in school it will be easier to clean! Here's hoping!

Who is this Champion family chick and why is she making me feel like a horrible house keeper? haha! Ok, I don't know how it is at your house but at my house with 3 under 3 I don't get a chance to breathe much less clean while they are awake. I try to clean as I go while they are awake but nap time is my work time which stinks because then I never really get a chance to do stuff I want to do:( It's a struggle. Let me know your solution.

I clean my upstairs on Mondays and my downstairs on Fridays. That results in never having a clean house at one time, but at this stage in my life with little kiddos, it's better than having a dirty house all the time! My normal housecleaning is vacuuming, dusting (I HATE DUST), cleaning bathrooms. I'm straightening and organizing and putting stuff where it belongs all the time. Never a rest from it, but it never becomes a huge project either. I find that if I do it first thing in the morning BEFORE I touch the Internet, it gets done. The Internet is a big diversion for me. If I have things to do, I have to do them before sitting down to the computer. I usually do laundry on Mondays and Thursdays or I would be doing it all the time. And I clean up my kitchen every night after dinner while David is bathing the kids. I can't stand waking up to a dirty kitchen. It wrecks my whole day.
